Cooking With Friends Basics

Cooking With Friends Basics is designed for older teens and young adults (ages 16+) who would like to learn basic kitchen safety and cooking skills. Participants will learn to safely handle various kitchen equipment and utensils in a highly supported and heavily supervised environment.

Cooking with Friends Basics is created for older teens and young adults who are interested in cooking experiences with peers. The class will emphasize basic safety in the kitchen, provide simple recipes (picture recipes as needed) and teach dinner etiquette.

Ages: 16 +

Staffing: 2 : 1

Focus: Readiness

Criteria: Participants who need support and/or supervision to be safe in kitchen  / Open to the public

Goals: 1 - Develop safe food preparation and handling skills.

           2 - Learn to make supervised meals that are simple and healthy. 

           3 - Learn basic table etiquette and kitchen hygiene.

Duration: 10 weeks

Rate: $100 / 3 Monthly installments

          $300 / Full 10 week session

How to register:

Click here to register for classes and to access the new AutismUp Dashboard. If you are enrolling in classes or are using our new registration system, CampSite, for the first time you will be required to create a new family account before enrolling in any classes/programs. 

Notes:

  • You will receive confirmation that your registration request was received.  Your registration will then be placed in queue while we process your registration.
  • You will then receive an update email with the results of your registration request. Your request will either be "enrolled, wait listed, or denied with an explanation".
  • A representative of AutismUp will contact you if there are any issues with your registration. 
  • To apply for a scholarship, please complete a Scholarship Request Form and send the first two pages of your most recent tax return to:  AutismUp, Attention: Program Office.
  • Installment billing is available to all families. Contact finance@autismup.org for more info.
  • Gift cards are available for purchase and redeemable towards the cost of any class, program, workshop, or special event.
