This instructor-led class uses improvisational games to help participants build confidence, communication skills, and social awareness. Through playful humor and theatre-based activities, participants practice thinking on their feet and expressing themselves creatively. The class creates a supportive space to strengthen social interactions and quick-thinking skills. Participants receive direct instruction on a variety of improv techniques, including active listening, accepting and building upon ideas (“Yes, And”), storytelling, character development, verbal and nonverbal communication, problem-solving, adaptability, and teamwork. Lessons are designed to teach participants how to think creatively, respond to unexpected situations, and collaborate effectively with others. The class promotes the development of transferable life skills such as self-expression, public speaking, emotional awareness, social communication, perspective-taking, flexibility, and confidence in social situations.
