Full Life Academy is a personalized, goal driven in-person program guided by our Full Life Academy Curriculum with classes that empower, build proficiency, and increase independence in a supportive environment. AU Full Life Academy: Summer Sessions

FL Summer Academy consists of classes focused on the following skills:

I’ve got this! Recognizing your personal strengths is the first step in being able to speak up for yourself. Participants will identify their gifts and learn how to apply them by building action plans. The class will promote self-confidence and public presentation skills

Got Goals? We all have aspirations, desires, and ambitions to better ourselves and our lives by making improvements to our lifestyle. Goal setting is an essential aspect of personal and professional growth. It enables you to see a path towards an achievement.

Yoga/Wellness Participants will stretch, learn body awareness, strategies for inner calming using breathing techniques while finding ways to incorporate Yoga in daily life. We will provide participants with a yoga mat or they may participate in a chair.

*Technology/Computer Skills
This class will teach participants how to use a web building platform to create a personalized portfolio. This portfolio will include information that each participant choses such as their gifts, strengths, talents, goals and dreams. Participants can utilize their portfolios for personal goal tracking and development.

This class will be held at Bryant and Stratton’s Greece Campus.

*Gardening Learn how to plan and plant a garden. Participants will learn what tools they need, what plants are best for growing in our region, garden design, and maintaining the garden. We will learn the benefits of gardening as a leisure activity that benefits our health and well-being This class will be held at Bryant and Stratton’s Greece Campus.

Cooking Basics
Participants will learn to build skills toward independence in healthy meal planning, reading and following a recipe, and kitchen safety. They will use these skills by making a healthy snack, breakfast, lunch or dinner.


That costs how much!?
Financial Literacy/Budgeting participants will learn to manage their money more effectively, spend wisely and save consistently. Participants will create money goals and an action plan toward financial management.


Two opportunities will be offered:

AM Session: Monday and Wednesdays (9:00a - 12:00p)

PM Session: Tuesday and Thursdays (12:00p - 3:00p)

The program runs from July 5 – August 12.

Participants will meet at AutismUp (50 Science Parkway, Rochester, NY 14260).

Ages:
18+

Classroom Size: 3 students to 1 instructor. Maximum 6 participants per session.

Duration: 6 weeks (July 5 – August 12)
