Cooking with Friends

Participants learn to follow recipes, measure ingredients, chop, combine, and safely use a stove to prepare simple meals. The class emphasizes kitchen safety, healthy foods, and hands-on practice to build confidence and independence. Cooking alongside peers also supports teamwork, social skills, and the opportunity to bring home a personal recipe book for continued practice.

Category: Culinary Arts

Ages: 18+

Criteria: Participants of all abilities who can be independently safe in the kitchen, open to the public

Goals: executive functioning, safety awareness, development of cooking skills

Outcomes: Increased confidence, social awareness, chopping, measuring, cutting, following a recipe, and following multi-step directions
