Support Coach
Location:
AutismUp at the Golisano Autism Center, Rochester, New York
Hours:
20 hours per week, including afternoons, evenings, and weekends
Pay range:
$15.50 -$17.00 per hour depending on education and experience
Position Summary:
The Support Coach will provide direct support to participants in programs that focus on skill development (social, enrichment, independence, fitness, self-regulation, the arts, physical and/or adaptive, etc.) for children, teens, and adults in classroom and community settings.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supporting individual participants in achieving goals and objectives
- Responsible for the supervision and safety of program participants
- Supports the AutismUp Instructors and program objectives, particularly in regard to participants’ social development and behavioral management
- Completes progress notes/metrics and other necessary documentation by the end of shift
- Attends trainings and meetings as assigned
- Follows all AutismUp’s policies and procedures at all times
Qualifications:
- Currently attending high school, a high school diploma is preferred; college experience in a related field is helpful
- Experience working with individuals with ASD or other disabilities is preferred
- Enthusiastic and enjoy working with children, teens, and adults
- Team player with strong communication skills
- Ability to work late afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays
- Ability to occasionally lift 25 lbs.
